Homeless

Love came knocking on my door

Not once but twice

A door which was shattered and broken

With no signs of anyone living inside

The first time it knocked,

I was too overwhelmed

Thought it was mere delusion

Just my ears ringing

It came hesitantly though

Not sure if it was at right door

Came and left unnoticed

Unusually the second one was very determined

I tried to shun it away

But it stood there for long, knocking.

Finally I gave up

And let love in..

As days passed by

It made itself home

Renewed every nook and corner

The shattered door was now a polished one

And lead to a beautiful home..

Sooner the first one came along, to knock again

Unaware that I no longer stayed alone

Was tempted to welcome it

But who was I fooling?

The home I was letting it in, wasn't just my own

The door which shunned people away,

Was a home for love now.

If it left for new one's entry,

I can no longer call it home again

So I turned deaf.

To avoid getting homeless again..
